I feel terrible… I got things that I want to say, but I couldn’t get past the title.. The title is supposed to let you know what the rest of the article is about, but in this case it won’t help you a single bit.. It only tells you my current location.. You see, my brain has been kidnapped, and unfortunately no one so far has been claim the ransom..
I guess, this is just another way to say, not to expect too much out of this old foul, and to enjoy the short ride, that life seems to be..
There was a circus in town last month and they built their massive tent, just a few hundred metres away from Gigi.. When I was 10, there use to be a circus, that used to come and setup for few weeks, in the council area just in front of the main street of the suburb I lived in Bologna.. I remember vividly the sound of those massive Sledge hammers, hitting what it looked like truck axles, deep into the ground to hold the ropes, that supported the entire structure..
I remember looking at those exotic animals kept in big cages, but most of all, I remember how fearless those acrobats just went up and down those ropes and trapezes, without a single hesitation..
By the time I was twenty years old, the circus operating left in Europe where not that many and, while I’m happy to say that the circus here had no animals kept in cages what so ever, I couldn’t help to think that maybe, this was the last time in my life, that I was able to see one of these big tend and those fearless people wearing those beautiful colourful dresses..
Another species, gone forever.. The origin of a circus could go back to the Roman Empire but I can’t help to think that it is also thanks to “Zingari” (Gypsies), that this unique way of living has lasted for so long…
Being outside most of the evening, while drinking and chatting with neighbours, does also allow to keep an eye for the sky, and what a beautiful Lunar eclipse we had.. I took some picture, but the quality is not that good.. Drinking under the moon has also led me to two new friends, that are living next door to me at the moment..
Paul and Alison have been on the road for ever, and were happy to share with me some of their memories, including two bus conversions and downsizing now to a 10 metre 5th wheeler.. Yes, that’s called downsizing around here.. I always enjoy to see very old people, still on the road, living their dream and not giving up a single moment. Would you like to know their secret?
I did, and I asked.. Quite simple really. Paul sum it up by saying “There is no time in life to worries about crap”! I’m not sure which crap he had in mind, but I can tell you, that for the past month I have witness a very happy and relaxed couple doing their things and simply been busy at living.. Maybe it is that simple.. I hope so..
I managed to find an old picture of the main street of Laidley and also perhaps a very old Queenslander.. Unfortunately, here the saying, “if you don’t use it, you lose it” can be seeing very clear.. Such a pity to let such a work of art just disappearing every day, bits by bits.. There are however still plenty of very nice places where to enjoy your time..
Not everyone are busy preparing for the Christmas holiday.. IT seems that nearly every campervan here does come with a sort of puppy or very, very old dog, but nothing in the middle.. These unfortunately bring two completely kind of people together.. The “know everything about animal” and the “it was a Christmas gift for my daughter”.. They argue with each other nearly every day..
In the end the rest of us and the actual animals are the two that gets the punishment.. So far, this has been the only negative side of living on the road.. I speak for most dogs, cats and chickens I think! If they could tell their owners what they think… I really don’t get it.. How can you say that you love an animal and then either, keep them in a cage or leave them by themself all day.. That’s not love! That’s being very selfish if you ask me..
Well there we are, at the end of 2022.. If my calculations are not wrong, I hope that in 2023 we will find again some normality, Putin will disappear, and fuel and supermarket will bring prices down to earth again.. If not, we are in for a very long winter and no winners…
It is raining at the moment. Well it has for the past 2 days now.. Do you ever wonder why it rarely rains where the water is needed most? If you have watch this video that does explain a bit what’s going on in this wonderful land of ours..
