What is really the Australian Dream?? Well, we apparently have several versions of such ideology..
Wikipedia puts it down to simply owning your home is “the Australian Dream”, while if you ask around, you may get a range of answers going from become a gold medallist at the Olympic Games or having financial independence, to simply having a full time job.. I found myself agreeing with all of those as in my experience, the Australian Dream has always being simply the fact of “a country where you are still able to fulfil your dreams”, no matter what they are..
I got to tell you the truth! I have been living the dream for a long time now. Coming to Australia was the best decision I have ever made for myself and my family, and for the past 12 months, the Covid has emphasised this fact even more.. I think it is moronic that our politician truly believe that because of their restrictions they controlled the virus. It has nothing to do with them or their restrictions but more a matter of a population density of 3 cats per Km² and a very hot weather.. The proof of this is where in Victoria with a high density population and the cold weather, the virus didn’t stop, until the warm weather kicked in again.. But I’m not an “expert” on the subject, I simply look out of the window every day and pay attention.. 😀
I also don’t understand why people are so cheesed off with China lately.. Have you ever tried to keep 500 rats, and keep them healthy, in a cage designed for 10?? They are aware of the small cage, they know, and perhaps that’s why the already own around 40% of Australia (don’t quote me on this as it could be a lot more and yes, that doesn’t include the deserts. Nobody wants that..).. How long it has been that the street’s name are in Chinese on the Gold Coast?? 30?? 40 years?? I think it is pretty silly to try to boycott a country that already owns nearly half of your own nation.. So, relax, as it wouldn’t be much point in China attacking Australia only to conquer the other half.. Our politicians will keep selling the other half or what’s left of it to China or India and at a much, much cheaper cost than a war..
I’m not sure that’s the correct definition of a multicultural nation, is it? Never mind..
So the world is in a big mess at the moment.. Wars everywhere, floods, animals dying in huge numbers, fires everywhere.. And while everything is falling apart, we decided to stock up on toilet paper.. That’s how you know when you live in the lucky country!!! That was our biggest problem, our biggest fear.. Huge Brown Skid Marks! I blame the TV and the social media for this, as we are constantly bombarded with propaganda by a multitude of uncontrolled and unfiltered rubbish.. It has become harder and harder to differentiate between Facebook, channel 7 9 10 (that’s really only one channel), and where the truth has gone..
Luckily in the midst of all this, we were also given some exquisite true entertainment by one man and his election campaign.. Who knew or would have bet, that a single man could do so much damage to the most powerful nation on the planet?? I sincerely wonder how long it will take for the US to recover from such a disaster..
Those big fires, that Aboriginal people around Australia did warn us about it, for the past 30-40 years, and yet nothing was done about it.. Well it seem that after the last big fire, finally we are listening.. It was very pleasing to see that in some areas the Aboriginals are in charge again and allowed to do the right thing for this country.. Hopefully they will be allowed to manage the entire country again soon.. How do they say?? “When the shit hit the fan”? If you want to know more about “Cool Burning” watch this video
Yes, it is fair to say that 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, as in, the entire planet, and yet I can’t help it in thinking that we, here in Australia, still got the best deal..
It is the lucky country and one of the few country left where you can still try to fulfil your dreams!!! Your kids dream?? Perhaps, if we stop selling this country and go back to be a proud multicultural nation..
See ya all in 2021
