I can’t believe the amount of work this month I managed to fit in the last two square metres of Gigi. The floor, the dashboard, the entertainment unit, the large TV, the last electrical panel, the trimming around the door and the windows, the electric sun shader, step lights, cabin/map lights, the driver fan.. An endless list of tedious little jobs.. And I could have really finished them all, but once again, my luck packed its bag and left me. I ended up in hospital with an erupted Baker’s cyst that virtually stopped me from walking for the past two weeks..

I thought that this was going to be the last of the Log book, but it is not the case. There will be probably another two coming up after August, when Gigi will be registered as a Motorhome.. There are few more jobs left in the bin’s area, such as the laundry and the BBQ..

I had few planks of floor left and I decided to use them for the first floor platform where the driver seat is located.. The original floor already had a join just before the seat, so it was just a matter of removing the old rubber and glue in the new floor.

The dashboard did take more time than expected, mainly because I decide to replace all the switches and to repaint the dash frames from black to Sky Blue. I also did replace all standard incandescent lights with LED and that was also fun in particular finding something so small to fit some of the OEM Scania gauges..

The GPS and the radio did fit perfectly and you can see in the picture, the rear camera in action. I manage to build a wall coat hanger and installed in the bedroom, as there was no room left around the front door. I also manage to finish the conversion for the front skylight that you can see in the open position. It practically works like the one in the bathroom and it allows you with a small ladder to get on the roof if need it..

The main TV did also find its new location above the centre console. You can see it in both the close and open position and again I was very please with the result particularly as it was just in the time for the first F1 race of the season.

Just few little adjustment are need it before I can finally hit the road. Today I also order the tyres that should be here in a couple of days, just in time for the inauguration day on Saturday..

I can’t wait to see the kids faces.. 😁
