I have been watching a deserted Highway for a couple of hours through my bedroom window and all I can think is being in one of those movie like Contagion and Outbreak or 28 Days Later.
Luckily, those are just movies… Oh, wait… not anymore… And yet, in this surreal atmosphere, in which the most obvious missing detail is the complete lack of human presence and noises, I cannot help it, but to think, that perhaps this planet is taking a deserved break from us.
We have been told to isolate ourselves and to stay home as much as possible. This was the easiest part to achieve, as for most of us, living in the rural part of the continent, this is simply every day’s life. You only go out when you need to go shopping, once or twice a month. Then you have news like this:
Scientists are trying to work out how the virus jumped from animal to human! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
Since when, human are not longer animals??? It is presumptions like these, that makes us, the worst of the animal’s kingdom!!!
Someone should let know all the viruses out there, that apparently, we are not longer animals. We have upgraded. We are mammals now…
Good luck with that…
It will be Easter soon and I don’t like the fact of not being able to see my kids and grand kids this year. It is already hard enough to put up with getting together only during public holiday, but now it just got a lot of worse. Apparently, I should be concerned with stockpiling toilet paper and booze, but I can’t! There are so many more “real” issues at the moment, that I can’t even comprehend why we have people like that on this planet.
I’m worried about my other half of the family and friends in Italy, so close to the “red zone” where there is nothing I can do, but hope. I hope to be able to see them once more, I hope they will make it through, I just hope that soon this madness will be over and that I can get to go to see them again..
I don’t have many friends, but I do care for the few I got and hope to get to see them soon and well. Social media is crap compare to the real thing!!! Luckily I have plenty of memories to helping me keep going through this dry spell. Things like Uralla room 15, or the longest fart in the elevator in Milton, the longest night ai Bagni di San Filippo, or the run from the bear in La Spezia…
Off course, some of us have already lived a similar experience back in April 86 (Chernobyl). Lots of similarity.. No going out, no school, no fresh milk for a month, no fresh meat, acid rains… Still, it doesn’t help. It seems that we are good at stuffing this planet up, if we put our mind to it. I don’t think of myself as a racist person, but in a political point of view, it seems to me that most communist country do have a tendency to create problems and then trying to hide them until is too late for the rest of the world! There must be a way to stop this disgusting way of handling the truth.
I’m angry now, so I’ll stop here, so not to regret of being too honest…
I hear you
Hi Krystal
How are you doing? Hope everything is fine…
