There a new war brewing out there…

I just experienced first hand last week.. A friend of mine putting is dog poop bag in the bin next to our RV, got a mouthful of insult from the guy sharing the bin in my area…

It nearly ended in a fist fight between my friend and this idiot, and to be honest, it made me feel sick to see so much anger for something so meaningless… Nevertheless, it did show that there is a problem and a luck of both understanding and respect, and I also say, from both side of the party, generically speaking…

We are in what it is called a Showground Dog Friendly.. But is that really the truth??

Let me start by saying that, yes it is dog, no, actually it is pet friendly, as nearly 99.99% of guests here have some form of pets… Unfortunately, like with parenthood, some are great owners and others are…well, they are shite, and unfortunately they also seem to be the large part of the group…

As usual, because of them, the rest are now starting to pay the price…

This is what I have witness since living on the road…

1) About a third of dog owners, have dog out of control barking almost incessantly at all hours…

2) About a third of Caravan owners have up to 4 dogs living with them… (That’s just wrong!)

3) About half of dog owner do not tie the poop bag when they dropped in the bin… (more of this later)

4) About a quarter of dog owner living in caravan don’t really care about their pet and/or have no money/energy left to provide good care for their pets…

5) Most dog owner seem to think that it is ok to have their dog/s licking your legs and pissing on your tyres…

6) Most dog owners always prefer their dog to take the dump near your site instead of near their site… (I was not surprised by that)

7) Most if not all dog owners hate to have to pick up their dog shit… (I was not surprised by that either)…

I’m sure there are other that I miss now, but you get the drift…

I used to have a dog and I loved him… Living in the country, I never had to pickup is warmish poop… I guess it must be a bit like changing nappies. You have too because they are your kids, but no matter what, you really never get used too…

Since I have been living on the road, and as my friend could confirm it, I have seriously contemplate getting a pet myself, but then reality kicks in. With the current cost of living (and vets) and my current environment, I’m in no position to being able to take PROPER care of a pet.. I think I’m being honest, and considering what I’m seeing around me, I think I made the right decision, in deciding to pass on the option of owning a pet.. Plus with all the other pets around my legs, I feel I already own more than one…

Don’t get me wrong.. I love pets, and while I’m a cat person, I have no problems with dogs… But you also have to consider the remaining 00.01% of people in the showground… They have their right as well… And we got to respect that… But I have no time for these people if they can’t be respectful while passing their point across…

I guess there is a need for an education class on both side of this story…

The correct way to tie the poop bag

To the Dog owners I would like to say:

Enjoy your pet, but don’t just take him for a walk for 30 second twice a day. You are retired now and got fuck all to do all day! So play with your friend and make him part of the adventure… If it barks for longer than an hour, assist him and see what the problem is… If you are too stupid to understand the issue at hand, seek the help of a professional handler. They are very good at solving this kind of issues..

Don’t let your dog tied to a chain 3 metres long all day… That’s not love… That’s just showing to other people that you are a looser!

Don’t French kiss your dog, especially in front of other people, particularly after he has been play licking his own bum for the past 20 minutes… Your mouth doesn’t have the required bacteria to fight tapeworms…

Try to learn to make a proper knot on that dog poop and think of the guy emptying the bin when collection day is due.. Remember, he knows where your caravan is and he’s in charge of the showground, so show some fecking respect! It is because of people like you, that other dog’s owners are getting in trouble now, when using the bins!!!

Keep your dog on a leash, and a short one when around other people.. Not everyone enjoys being licked by a dog. Remember that!

If you take your dog for a walk (poop time), pick the less travel path, not the busiest one… No one enjoys watching you picking shit up!

Finally you don’t need to penalise 4 dogs where you can do all the damage on just one… You and your 3×2 metres caravan are constantly smell like a wet dog. That’s why nobody ever visits you, and why you have no friends… Bad enough being a hoarder, but why punish the dogs???

To the Pet Free People I would like to say:

In a showground/caravan park, the bins provided across the ground, are NOT your OWN propriety. When you are at home, and it is your own bin, it is a different story.. So stop for a second and think what you are saying… Also, do you remember what it was like to walk around before the poop bag was introduced…

If dog poop in a bag, affects you so much, perhaps picking a non friendly pet caravan park would be your best options…

Don’t treat every dog owner the same, as they are not. Some are doing it wrong, but you can’t punish the lot for it, and more often than not a gentle word goes a long way…

You are in a friendly pet area, so adapt yourself to the environment, and if something is really bothering you, always talk to the caretaker first… Let him handle the situation.. Don’t take it on your own to make new rules… You will get kicked out!!!

Some people, truly love their pets, and while it seems to be something becoming rare to witness in showground, it is something always worth respecting and appreciate…
