For the past couple of weeks we have been working on stage 1 of Luigi’s conversion. The engine was tested for compression and cylinder n.6 turned out to be 100 PSI lower that the rest. So it had to come out to find out why. We are also getting the Injectors done and while there, not knowing the real mileage of the Turbo, I decided to get it serviced. Next will be fixing all the air leaks (plenty of them) and possibly replacing all the airbags. If everything goes to plan then we’ll move to get the new Gearbox with retarder installed…
Update:
It turned out the Turbo need it a rebuilt as it was letting the oil past the seals.
The problem with cylinder n.6 turned out to be that both valves where not sit properly. The was also oil in the air compressor, so that’s getting a rebuilt as well. This also explain why it was taking so long for the air tanks to fill up…
