Yes, I think René Descartes got it wrong…

There is a massive difference between thinking and believing about/in something… I found myself writing this on Australia day and for a good reason…

Three days ago while walking around in the camping area, I started to notice that it is only the old or the low income people that are proudly displaying the Australia flag. I already previously mentioned the Australia flag in another blog, where I stated that most nomads display the Australian flag when in camp mode…

I just realised now that I was wrong… Nearly the majority of expensive vehicles have no Australian flag on display, not even on Australia Day! What a shame!  However, this fact does give you an insight of what being an Australian really mean to some people or some families perhaps… Actually, this is what I believe; I believe that they are successful and I believe they made a new life for themselves here in Australia, but for some reason they feel they don’t belong here… It is a cultural clash… I see it all the times…

I don’t have all the answers and I don’t pretend that everything is hunky dory, but I can’t help it to think that with everything going on around the world at the moment, we are still doing extremely well here compare to the rest…

For those people that are struggling with assimilating the Australian way of doing things, I have a suggestion… It was suggested to me 30 years ago by a very old man, and I can assure you, that it does work… If you find that, yourself or perhaps your entire family have just migrated to Australia and are struggling to enjoy how much differently things are done here, take a pause.

Then go, fly back to what you think is your real home, where ever in the world that may be, and spend a bit more time there, now that you have actually experienced both and make an informed comparison… I’m positive, you will be back here in a flash, blessing your God, now that you see the way things really are…

I hope that by next year, on the 26th of January you will have finally understood what that beautiful flag really mean and have it flying into the wind and be proud of who we are and what we stand for… It is all about the people, not the land or who got here first… It seems that lots of people are stuck in the past… That doesn’t help anything or anyone… Believing in a future where everybody have their Australian flags proudly on display, now that it is something worth fighting for…
